Update 2, 9/21 – Sony released an official statement acknowledging that preorders were a hot mess, and that not to worry, they would be working with retailers to announce more.  They also reiterated they’re planning on having more than was at launch for the PS4, and that everyone will get one.

Update: So yeah, it didn’t last until tomorrow, retailers went early causing mass panic Wednesday night.  Thanks to @caffeinepowered (twitter), Matt, Dave and I were all able to procure a preorder from Amazon, the last man standing of the evening.

My wife has DVDs and Blu Rays she wants to watch, so we are getting the disc-based version.  And extra controllers.  And a charging dock.  Assuming we find out relatively soon what *select retailers* are going to be allowing us to preorder.  And if that was the case, why did we have to fill out that Sony form?  Also, all games will be $70 with ‘budget’ titles like Sackboy running $60.  Welcome to next gen, y’all!
